It is illegal in Kentucky to buy or sell Raw Milk.

It is not illegal to consume Raw Milk from your own cow.
Our herd share program is just that, you buy a share of ownership of our herd of cows. Then you pay RSR
a fee for the board & labor to care for the animal and you get to drink the creamy milk.

The Rolling Springs Ranch dairy (RSR) is a very small family operation. We raise Jersey and Jersey cross cattle. They live a stress free life in Columbia KY on 21 acres of sumptuous orchard grass pasture.

We have staggered our calving to ensure we have a steady supply of milk available. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, we may only have small quantities of milk available to each share owner, but only for a short period of time.

Our cows are milked once a day in the morning by the RSR family using vacuum surge equipment, a tried and true process used in the dairy industry for over 100 years.
Our animals and our pastures are as natural as possible but we are not certified organic.
We avoid pesticides, feed non GMO grain when needed and only give (prescribed by our vet) antibiotics when the animals welfare is in danger.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ours

RSR is responsible for the daily care of the herd. (Boarding-Feeding)
RSR is responsible for Milking the herd at the owners request.
RSR is responsible for all Veterinary expenses. -RSR will retain ownership of all calves born to the herd.
RSR will buy back your share of the herd at purchase price if requested.The Share Owner is responsible for the transportation to pick up milk.

If Share Owner fails to pick up their milk, they still bear the responsibility of all fees/payments etc..
Share Owner is required to supply 1/2 gallon wide mouth jars. (glass can be cleaned and sanitized in most dishwashers & stays cold longer).
Share Owner is responsible for their own 1/2 gallon Containers, always leaving 1-2 clean containers at each pick up to be refilled.
Share Owners may not re-sell milk.

I agree that RSR will not be held liable to share owner/boarder for any sickness, death or damage caused from the production of raw milk for the share owner. I agree that RSR will not be held liable for any loss of the herd resulting from the production of raw milk, maintenance or care. I agree that RSR is not responsible for any accidents the share holder or their guests may have while on RSR property picking up milk. I agree that as a Share Holder I will not bring Pets onto RSR property.

I hereby acknowledge this release from liability for accidental injury on farm property and for any illness which I may incur as a result of consuming Raw Unpasturized Milk. I hereby assume all risks connected therewith and consent to participate in the herd-share.Printable Herd Share Agreement
