OUR STORY

The 2020 Pandemic made us realize that we wanted a healthier more fulfilling lifestyle. The only way to do that was to get out of the city and back to nature.

 

We decided to sell our home and start looking for our dream property. We hustled to get our home market ready while the demand was still strong in our area, and planned to live in our fifth wheel while looking for our dream piece of land. 

 

We wanted acreage, a barn, water and good pastures for livestock. We looked for about six months before we found 21 perfect acres in Columbia, KY

Once we set eyes on it we aptly named it Rolling Springs Ranch. The property has a rolling topography, a huge barn, three natural springs, acres of orchard grass pasture and lets not forget the breath taking  views.

Then the fun part began... we started planning out our farm so we could maximize its natural resources. We had to research what animals we could pasture raise to fill our freezers and yours but also produce a small profit. We spent hours reading many books on small scale, grass fed and organic livestock farming. The big challenge was organic, to use that term you need to be certified and there are a whole lot of conditions and hoops that we would need to jump through to accomplish that. So we decided to raise our stock ethically and as natural as possible, avoiding chemicals and antibiotics as much as possible. With this in mind we are trying to be self sufficient, live a healthier lifestyle and generate a small farm income.
